Blending food

I have been bouncing around with weight since I finished HCG last year. It's now the beginning of April and I've kept the weight off. The highest I got was 238. Not bad in my opinion but I wanted that next big push to finish getting to where I need to be with my body and health.

I'm trying something new I'm using our Vitamixer to blend all my food before I eat it.

I'm on my third day doing this. Plus working out and taking a couple supplements. I'll explain more about those if I keep taking them. I weighed in today less than my final HCG weight for the second time since finishing.

229.2

I'm really excited about it and want to keep it going!

Headed to the gym now!

End of HCG

The morning of the 27th was the end of my HCG journey. I was happy to chew gum, put on lotion and use Chapstick for the first time in a while. It was a sacrifice to do HCG but it was worth it. They count your weight loss from the high point of your gorge day to your final weigh-in for me that was losing almost 35 pounds in 43 days!!

I weighed in this morning at 229.8

I was 230 when I got out of the Marines so it's been a crazy change over the last couple months. Now I'm joining Mindy on Paleo to maintain my weight. And lose even more! I thought I wanted to be 220 but even a little less would be nice.

Mindy wants to compete in Fitness competitions for women. I don't want to compete. But I'd love to be cut!

We are finishing up a crazy year with weddings and starting right up in Jan with more weddings too. We are blessed to have amazing support in growing our business.

I can't remember if I mentioned it but I purchased Mindy a Vitamixer for Christmas and that thing is amazing. I'm even helping getting into the cooking and we are having a lot of fun in the kitchen. Hopefully as we get busier we will be able to keep cooking together.

I'm so lucky to have an amazing wife!

The weight loss journey isn't over, it's just starting a new chapter.

Day 40

Well I can't believe it's been 40 days already. I still have a little HCG left so my diet coach said to keep doing the shots until it's gone. Probably another day or two of shots. Good thing my daughter is diabetic or I wouldn't have the extra needles. I knew her being diabetic would come in handy some day :)

I just photographed my last wedding of the year yesterday and it was a lot of fun. It was a wedding at the LDS Temple and TPC summerlin. While on HCG I enjoyed having an apple day for my long weddings. It really helped with my energy and I didn't struggle at all. There have only been a couple days where I've been really tired. After I went golfing two days in a row was the worst. For the most part I've had energy and been fine. One of the biggest annoyances has been not putting on lotion. My wife doesn't like dry hands. I've been rubbing carmex on my hands to help with the drying and cracking. That has worked well.

When I weighed in this morning I came in at the lowest weight I've seen on the scale since my youngest daughter was 6 months old. Bree is now 7. The weight was 231.4. I'm so close to the 220's I can taste it.

As my oldest just told me today is Christmas Eve Eve Eve and I'm excited that for Christmas I'm getting a new me. I'm so happy my wife set up the appointment with the diet coach. Invested the money for HCG in me and helping me stick to the program.

I think I could have lost more weight but in the beginning I was using a lotion deep blue rub for my back and knee pain at night before bed. I didn't realize till half way through that it was probably a bad idea because of the lotion. I'm going to be posting some more photos after my maintenance days when the HCG is gone.

Thank you to TrimBody MD   http://trimbodymd.com/

My diet coach Arian asked me when I wanted to lose my weight by and I told him Christmas. He sure did help me and delivered on that Christmas wish.

I've been wasting money for years on crap that never worked for me. The biggest change was the diet and the coaching. I was held accountable each week and texted Arian daily he was always pushing and helping me!

Day 38

I have to say HCG is almost over and I'm a little burnt out with it.  I weighed in at 234 this morning. I had a really tough week or so and then last week I lost 6 pounds. I'm really happy that I've lost so much body fat and I'm really looking forward to working out. It's Dec 20th and I'm giving myself a new body for Christmas. Now I just have to keep going once in done. Back in May I did some measurements of my body and then just did it again tonight. It's crazy the difference and I was even bigger this summer. I weighed as much as 267 but on May 14th I was 256. Crazy what just over 20 pounds will do to you. 4 inches off my belly is hard to believe.

Mindy is down 20 pounds herself. I'm so proud of her changing her eating.

I really didn't want to lose my broad shoulders losing weight and I haven't lost to much from the chest so I think I'm alright there.  Just a few more days!!! I can do it!

Saturday, November 30, 2013

Day 18

It's two days after thanksgiving! Normally at this point I'm 10 pounds heavier because of my birthday and thanksgiving are based around food.

I stuck to my diet on Thanksgiving and I weighed in today at 245.2 I'm stoked about that. Not many people can say they lose weight between Halloween and Thanksgiving but my wifie and I can. She's down 13 pounds so far!!!!

Yesterday G and I went golfing at Silverstone and I signed up for a monthly plan. I get two months of unlimited practice and 4 rounds of golf. Hopefully I get to go play more. G is getting so much better at making contact with the ball. She needs to work on putting but we have a lot of fun. I think she really only wants to go so she can get something from the snack cart and she gets to drive sometimes. Her golf edict is impressive for an 8 year old. Hopefully she'll keep playing with me and enjoy it.

Last night we also had a late night swimming session in the cousins heated pool. It was a lot of fun. But now everyone is tired for today and we have a lot to get done. Plus I have a photo shoot today in the snow! (Hopefully in the snow.)

Cheers to healthy eating!

Day 14. HCG

Haven't been blogging about it but I'm still doing good with the diet.

I'm down to 248.6 this morning. That's really really exciting to me.

Added some photos too!

I'm even more proud of my wife who has lost 10 pounds already!!!

I'm a little tired after having a late night.
I came home from a photo shoot and read Moby Dick to my girls. It's the first time I've ever read it and we are having a lot of fun. We are almost finished with it and then we'll move on to another adventure. I love reading to my daughters at night. After that my wifie was decorating the Christmas tree and just wanted me there to help. The girls had their own trees in their rooms so this is mommy's tree. I helped/answered emails/ talked for a couple hours with her. Then stayed up way to late watching the 49ers Monday night football game.

I wish I was able to get more sleep but I didn't and I get to go on another shoot today with a meeting at the end. Of course I'll stay up to late watching the Rebels basketball game. Oh the busy life. I will relax Thur and Fri hopefully.

Day 7 and 8

Day 7 and 8 I weighed in 253.4 and then 253.8 I was a little worries because day 8 was my birthday! My daughters didn't understand why we weren't going to do a birthday cake. First I have never really liked birthday cake but I love cocunut cream pie. My wife went to whole foods and got me a little cream pie. It was really good and the first time I cheated on my diet. I did also eat a little more steak than I should have. But all in all it worked out and I didn't over eat.

For my 32nd birthday I'm happy that I'm losing weight and getting healthy again!

My daughters gave me some great birthday cards. I also received channel blue and a Mazda 6 for my birthday gifts.

Oh boy Mindy is expecting a lot for her birthday. We'll be in California for Mindy's Birthday so I have to come up with something good!

Monday, November 18, 2013

Day 5 and 6

On the sabbath I rested from posting so here's my make up post.

Both days I weighed in at 255. Normally after I work weddings I get dehydrated and gain the weight back in a day or so. I'm glad that's not the case this time.

Sunday my daughter was sick and so I helped the wife a bit and watch footballs. Food commercials during football suck!!! Normally I like to eat and eat a lot during sports so that was different.

Today Mindy went to the studio and again that's when I eat a lot. The girls and I will get pizza or treats and we didn't do that. I'm happy they are eating healthier too. They laugh at me when they see me eat tomatoes like apples though.

Today I didn't take my appetite suppressant and was having more cravings but still kept to the diet.

I have realized I'm going to be eating 500 calories on my birthday, thanksgiving and christmas! It will all be worth it!

I love to read stories to my daughters at night. We are reading Moby Dick. I've never read it before so we are all having a lot of fun with it.

I also did 10 push-ups today. It's funny because I used to do 100's in a day now I'm happy I did more than 5. My knees hurt when I do push-ups so I haven't been doing them for a long time.

Tomorrow we are getting some b-12 and booster shots of some kind.

Good night for now!

Day 4 HCG is working!

After a crazy day yesterday I was really excited to see what I weighted. Usually when I work all day I lose a couple pounds.

I weighed in at 257.2

I was stoked about that!!!

I also took my appetite suppressant today. I really struggled finishing my celery and chicken for lunch. I would have never thought if struggle to eat 500 calories during the day but it's tough even with everything I did yesterday.

I'm waiting for the bridal show to wrap up and then we are packing up so I'll burn some extra calories doing that. Mindy also has me picking up a game table from her mom on the way home.

We moved into our new house in July 2012 and it's finally starting to come together. We still have a lot of work but it's coming along.

I'm proud that I'm on pace to lose the 40 pounds in 43 days. I'll be back to Marine Corps weight. (At least chubby Marine Weight when I get down there)

I was 225-230 when I got out of the Marines in 2005.

I was able to get in the 230's last year but gained all the weight back. I'm not going to let that happen again!!! Cheers to a newer and healthier Me!!!!!!!

Day 3

I'm writing this Saturday but thought is recap.

Even with gorging like crazy I woke up and weighed in and I was back down to 261. My diet coach said I'd lose the weight I gained by day 4 and he was right. I'm having a hard time actually eating all the food. I'm not even on aappetite suppressant yet. I had two photo shoots today. One at the Grand Canyon and one on the strip at night. They were a lot of fun and I didn't get hungry. I was thirsty and had to get carmex to help with the dried lips.

I also helped Mindy set up for bridal show. So all in all it was a busy day and I didn't get to tired so I'm happy about that.

I know I was burning extra calories so I was interested in seeing what my weight would be.

Stay tuned :)

HCG Day 2

I'm writing this at the end of day 2. I really thought it was going to be more fun to gorge than it has been. While I did eat a lot of food I really enjoy the last two days it was hard to keep putting it down.

I'm excited to get on the 500 calorie portion of it. I'm more excited to watch the pounds fall off!

Today I had to give myself my own shot. It was harder to do than I would have expected. Yesterday Mindy gave me the shot. I have a greater appreciation for my daughter with diabetes.

I weighed in this morning at 263.4

I'm supposed to gain weight the first two days because of the gorging. I'm curious to see if or how much weight I gained today. I went to a Brazilian steak house today and are all I could.

The funny thing is I haven't felt hungry so I've had to just eat to eat. When I think about it that's what I normally do. In my old everyday eating I'd just eat to eat and then keep eating and eating.

One thing I'm not happy about is I'm not supposed to chew gum or eat mints while on the diet. I love to chew gum and it usually keeps me from eating to much.

I need to get a good night sleep tonight though as I haven't slept well the last couple nights.

I have two photoshoot a tomorrow and have to help Mindy pack for the Bridal Show. Crap I should to charge some batteries ;)

I'll do that while I answer emails.

HCG Diet Day 1 Gorge Day!

I have spent so much money the last few years on the latest and greatest over the counter products to lose weight and none of them have got me the results I need. It's starting to get ridiculous that because my knees and back hurt I don't exercise. My only exercise has been my photo shoots. I've been working so much with Mindy and on my own. This year it photographed double the number of sessions as she did.

Last year I did a family weight loss challenge that I won but then gained almost all the weight back. Time for a little help from some medical professionals this time! I have a coach I check in with every morning. I'm using TrimBodyMD in summerlin!

I weighed in today at 261.

Day one of the shot and it's Gorge day it's going to be fun!

For those in my family that are signed up for this feed. I love you and thank you!

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Today my beautiful and wonderful wife celebrated her birthday. It was an amazing day.

I started her off with breakfast in bed, and gifts from the girls and I. The girls bought her crafts that they can do together and spend time with her. Bree picked out some glass pieces to paint. Georgia picked out a pottery set to make pottery and then decorate it. Together they are going to create a message boars with a mirror. I bought her a spa pass to a place she loves to get mani-pedis at.

We also had some family and friends over. I grilled some amazing food. I'm a charcoal kind of guy and just love to slow it down and grill. Mindy loves grilled onions so I made her a bunch of those too for her turkey burger.

It was funny because she loves Basken Robbins ice cream cakes. So I bought a little oreo one and a big one of the kind she loves with the mint chocolate chip and cake. I brought out the small one first to make her think I got the wrong kind. She actually whispered to her sister "he got the wrong kind" when I turned my back. I caught her but returned to the freezer with a huge cake of the one she wanted. It as great to see how happy she was with the day. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing wife. She is everything to me and I loved getting to pamper her today.

Breakfast: OJ, everything bagel, 2 pieces of bacon, poached egg.

Lunch: Bowl of cereal, then went with my beautiful wife to in and out for her birthday lunch. We split some animal fries.

Dinner: hot link sausage, two slider patties and a buns, ice cream cake from BR. Couple of small cups of cream soda.

For how much amazing food was available that I grilled I'm really proud of myself.

Tomorrow I need to go renew my gym membership.

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Remember how I set the goal to lose 4 pounds last week. With my lack of holding myself accountable I didn't make it. I'm actually back up to 260.

Banana, watermelon this is all I ate until dinner.

Dinner: bertoli chicken pasta, three small pieces of garlic bread. Then I ate one of my daughters small pieces of pizza and their garlic bread crust. OJ

Monday, January 9, 2012

Not sure why I didn't blog last week. Oh yea I didn't want to write down all the crap I was eating.

This morning I had a shake for breakfast hopefully that will help me get back on the right track.

Lunch: OJ, cottage cheese, salsa and toasted crackers

Dinner: chicken and vegetable stir-fry
Sugar free pudding.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

This morning I wasn't going to weigh myself but I just couldn't resist. I weighed in at 259lbs the same weight as when I left. It was actually quite an accomplishment to not gain any more weight with all the holiday treats. I'm a disappointed in myself though.

My youngest daughter is diabetic so we measure pretty much everything she eats so we know the right amount of carbs to give her. This morning I measured out my cereal for the recommended serving size of 3/4 cup. This fit in a tiny bowl that is 1/4 the size of my normal breakfast cereal portion. Quite shocking but if I do eat cereal I now have bowl to use. I wish companies that do advertising for cereal would show you in the commercial how much you should really eat.... Oh wait we live in America home of the Brave and fat!

Breakfast: small bowl of cereal w/fat free milk.

Lunch: Fiberone granola bar, Oreo's and milk. (I had to get the Oreo's out of my house and couldn't bring myself to throw them away)

Dinner: two eggs breakfast burrito and a handful of M&M's. (Mindy bought a automatic dispenser for Christmas and my dumb self filled it with Peanut M&M's)

I took the girls to the park and we played tag for a few minutes. I also did my shake weight exercise.

Hopefully some of that 259 was travel weight and I'll be able to drop a few pounds this week. 4 by next Monday to be exact!!

Saturday, December 31, 2011

Happy new years everyone

15 days of vaca is over. I'm sure I didn't lose 9 pounds but I'm confident I didn't gain 9 pounds either. I'm going to weigh in a few days. I drove home last night. Normally I eat a ton of junk food driving for over 10 hours but last night I did pretty good. Other than taxing Georgia a doughnut for opening her package. I did have a lot of sunflower seeds, jerky, 4 monster drinks and 3/5 hour energy drinks to stay awake.

Breakfast:(11:30am) CrispX cereal w/fat free milk.

Lunch: Fiberone bar

Dinner: tonight we ate at Mindy's parents. I'm so glad I don't live there anymore or else I would be bigger than I am now. The food is amazing and there is always so much. Tonight I had meatballs and sausage with this polish pasta thing. I can't remember what it is called but it has cheese and potatoes inside a big ravioli. I ate to many of then. They are really good. At least I didn't eat any desert or drink any soda. I also had some peppers and cucumbers.

It's good to be back home.

Friday, December 30, 2011

We went sledding today up at a place I used to go as a teenager. Since there hasn't been any snow this whole trip we decided to go to the mountains to find snow. We went up past Warm River to sled and build a snowman. The place that once was wide open sledding area was all grown in with fresh pines. It sure was different than I remember 15 years ago. Plus the snow level wasn't all that high. I went sledding with my daughters and ran up and down the hill so each of them would get a turn ridding down with me. We also built a snowman that was about a foot taller than me. The mid-section was rolled to big by me so it ended up being the base. That meant the original base was now the mid-section. It must have been funny trying to watch Mindy, Grandpa, and I lift it up there. We had to shape a ramp with snow and roll it up because it was way to big to lift. All in all we had a fun day and the girls finally got to play in the snow. More importantly for them they found all the clean snow they could eat!

Breakfast: Special K, fat free milk, OJ

Lunch: chili, w/fritos, sour cream and cheese

Snack: coconut cookies

Dinner: potato skins left over from my girls baked potatoes and chili on top. I also ate a couple more cookies.

Overall it was a great day with the fam!

I hate when I eat sugar because I just want more sugar. I just had 5 Oreos with a cup of milk.

Thursday, December 29, 2011

Breakfast: breakfast burrito, apple juice

Snack: Christmas Carmel's, cheese stick

Lunch: turkey sandwich with onions, tomatoes and pickles,

Snack: small bag or popcorn and diet soda at the movies. I went to War Horse with my mother and it was really good.

Dinner: wrap from Arby's, I didn't make it a combo so I just ate the wrap.

Now I'm about to workout. I also went swimming again with the fam but didn't do as much exercising in the pool. There are finally a lot of people staying at the hotel so we didn't stay into long.

On a sad note a warm wind and rain came in and melted the little snow that was here away. We still haven't gone sledding once. We are planning on driving higher up in the mountains tomorrow. Hopefully it works because Georgia told grandma she is "Double Sad because their isn't any snow!" poor thing hopefully tomorrow won't disappoint them.

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

Breakfast: sausage, eggs, special K w/fat free milk, OJ

Lunch: pizza bomb from Big J's! Diet soda

Dinner: chips and salsa and part of a Mexican dish I can't spell.

I also took my lovely wife to Footloose. It was really good. I wish I was in better shape so I could dance without my knees and back hurting. I ate most of our popcorn on the date.

Now I'm walking on the treadmill and finishing this blog post. Good day!

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Breakfast: ate hootenanny with home made raspberry jam. Couple pieces of French toast.

Lunch: two turkey sandwiches on rolls. A few pieces of Christmas candy.

Dinner: left over roast beef or as I like to call it "Roast Beast" and some mashed potatoes. It was a pretty small serving but I also snacked throughout the day on a bag of pork rines. I didn't know the plain ones were carb free.

I'm actually hungry tonight and I haven't gone to bed hungry this whole trip. I played in gym at the church for an hour today and I'm getting ready to go exercise a bit more before bed. It has been great hanging out with my family. One more day then they all go home.

Monday, December 26, 2011

I took a break blogging Christmas day. This morning started off good. That lasted until lunch.

Breakfast: Eggs and ham.

Lunch: two crunchy burritos from taco bell. This should have been the end of my lunch. But when driving back to the hotel I had an inner battle with myself and skinny Doug lost. (I was in the car with myself) I was getting in and out of the lane to turn to Burger King. At the last minute I made the turn and went and got a triple whopper. I also ate two bites of my daughters cheesy potatoes. Oh yea I almost forgot I had a snack size snickers too. I wish I wasn't in such a love hate relationship with food.

Dinner I went to another Family party. I ate a small bowl of chili, my sister is a vegan so chili without meat was a first for me. I also ate a small salad, little bit of cobbler, and a sliver of pumpkin pie. Later in the night I had three pieces of Christmas candy, peanut brittle and my grandma Harmon's Carmel recipe is one you can't pass up for Christmas.

Bit I did swim today with the kids for an hour and worked out in the gym for 45 minutes so hopefully my lunch didn't kill me.

It was great one of my brothers I haven't seen forever was their, two of my sisters and one of my sister in laws brought her laptop so we could Skype with my brother in Afghanistan.

Saturday, December 24, 2011

Christmas eve

Breakfast: small bowl of special K w/fat free milk, activia yogurt, OJ

Lunch: I skipped lunch in and effort to eat candy. I had some peanut brittle, coconut candy.

Dinner: roast beef, mashed potatoes,
Green beans, pecan pie.

Friday, December 23, 2011

Today we finished shopping for the kids in the hospital and delivered the presents. It was a great experience for our family. We actually got to deliver the gifts in the Rexburg Hospital. In Idaho Falls we only got to put them under a tree.

Breakfast: eggs, ham, tiny piece of bagel, OJ and milk

Lunch: Sizzlers lunch salad bar.... Enough said, corn nuts for a snack.

Dinner: chips and salsa, navaho taco, diet Mountain Dew for the first time in a long time. Then a hot cocoa.

I was able to take my beautiful wife on a date for the first time in a long time. We did one of my favorite dates per her request. We went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant and watched Breaking Dawn, finally. It was great to get to spend time together.

Thursday, December 22, 2011

Breakfast: 1 piece of pizza, 2 pieces of sausage, Yogurt.

Lunch: diet soda, mom's chicken dinner meal w/flavored sourdough pretzels.

Dinner: 4 pieces of cheese bread, 4 pieces of pizza, more pretzels.

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

Better at breakfast this morning. It should be a better start to the day. We are going shopping with the money the girls raised.

Breakfast: three assuage patties, banana, two little yogurts, OJ

Lunch: Texas whopper, small fry and a diet soda. (May seem like a lot but before I would get two double whoppers and fries.)

Peanut M&M's and sunflower seeds for a snack.

Dinner: Some chicken spicy Mexican dish my mom made. It was good but I don't know what she calls it. I added some fritos to it.

I'm eating more than I would like too but the sad thing is I'm eating a lot less than I was before I started blogging again.

The girls had fun shopping and we got to play in some snow for the first time on our trip. It looks like it is only going to snow a couple more times while we are here.

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Georgia my oldest daughter was staring in the mirror and asked "Do humans blink?" Mindy's response "Yes." Georgia then said "Why can't I see it?"

I love what little kids say!

Breakfast: small bowl of special k cereal with fat free milk, banana, sausage and eggs with a little bit of a bagel.

It's funny how eating to much at lunch makes me feel like I need to eat and eat all day.

Lunch: V-8, nacho lunchable, fritos, and then the rest of my daughter's V-8.

For a snack I had a couple handfuls of sunflower seeds.

Dinner: I had a Mexican fajita burrito and a few chips with salsa and bean dip.

Gave in and had a piece of cheese bread and pizza late tonight.

Monday, December 19, 2011

I love hotel breakfast

My family always tries to find hotels that include a complementary breakfast because of how much money it saves. We are staying for 15 days so hopefully we don't get sick of the same thing over and over.

It was pretty depressing to read in the USA today that only just over 20% of the country will have a white Christmas. Hopefully we will get ours!

I didn't get up and workout this morning because I wanted to let my family sleep but I'm going to go tonight after we go caroling to some neighbors.

Breakfast: English muffin with one sausage and eggs. Two glasses OJ, yogurt and a little granola to see if I liked it.

Lunch: a bowl of what my mom calls taco soup. It was really good. Like a chili with fritos, sour cream, salsa, & cheese.

Dinner: I ate some mystery casserole of my mom's. It was good and I didn't eat to much. I also ate 4 twizzlers later.
Diet Dr. Pepper.

My workout tonight sucked but I was in there. I'm sore from last night.

One step back two steps forward

Day one of the vacation was our travel day. Up at 3:30am do drive game me an opportunity to eat way to much.

Over the day I had two breakfast burritos from Roberto's Taco Shop, two 5 hour energy drinks, two sandwiches from Arby's, three pieces of licorice, a couple pieces of beef jerky, and a bunch of sunflower seeds. 4 diet Dr Peppers, and an OJ. (all the caffeine is probably why I'm not tired and my whole family is out already)

Then for dinner lol yes there is
more I had a salad and a bowl of chili. (much better choice!)

I got to see my mother for a few and she is looking much better than when I saw her during Chemo this summer. I'm so happy to be able to get to spend this time so close to her.

The hotel we are at has a nice hot tub and gym so I did more exercise today than I have done in months. I'm spending this trip getting back in the habit of working out.

So while I ate too much food driving, I'm happy to say I will be working out to hit my goal of losing 9 pounds in 15 days! (maybe 11 or 12 lbs after today's food)

Saturday

We had a garage sale. The girls goal was to raise money by selling old toys. The money they made is going to be used to buy new toys for children in the hospital. This was their idea and I'm really proud of them. They raised more than $300! It will be amazing buying gifts and serving.

Because I was helping them with that I didn't eat breakfast.

Lunch: two hawaiian sweet roll ham and cheese sandwiches. One sugar free pudding and a bag of apples.

After lunch I had an unexpected but really fun photoshoot.

Dinner: 8 small chicken nuggets, fiber one bar and a V-8 drink.

Great day today!

Doug

Friday, December 16, 2011

Wow two days in a row.

Sunday will be the start of a 15 day vacation and I'm glad I'm blogging what I eat so I won't over do it. For years now I always gain a lot of weight from Halloween to New Years. But this year I'm cutting my weight gain short by starting to blog now.

A couple weeks ago I weighed 265. I have been over 260 for a while again and it annoys me. I don't have enough energy to be as productive as I want.

This morning I weighed in at 259! This is pretty depressing though because in March of 2011 I weighed 235 before Mindy and I did our wedding in the Virgin Islands. Its gross to know that I gained 30 pounds over the summer until a couple weeks ago.

My goal is to be at 250 lbs or less when I return home Jan 2nd.

Breakfast: OJ, two small breakfast burritos

Lunch: three Tyson chicken fingers, bag of sliced apples

December 15

I stopped blogging a long time ago because I couldn't blog from my phone. But I just found yesterday that Blogger now has an app so it's on like donkey kong. It's amazing how much more self control I had today with food knowing I was going to be posting everything I ate online. I still need to get back to exercising regularly. But eating better first will be a major step in the right direction!

Breakfast: Coco Rice crispies and fat free milk. 10 peanut m&m's

Lunch: handful of honey roasted sun flower seeds (or more like mouthful) Light tuna sandwich with olive oil mayo and whole grain bread. Fiber-one granola bar.

Dinner: can of Progressive Light Roast Beef soup. Two glasses of OJ. Bag of sliced apples.

I'm still hungry but done eating for the night!!! That's a first in a really long time!

Yuck

My oldest daughter is pretty sick and we are going to take her to get tested for Strep Throat. Just what my family wants to hear. I doubt everyone wants us to be around with a sick child.

This weekend has been rough.

Not ready to Run

I took my dog to the park and she wanted to run a little bit so I tried. It didn't work out for me. My knee is pretty tight right now. I walked with her for a while and did some pushups and attempted pullups at the park's workout sections. I remember the days when I could do 20 pullups like it was nothing. Now I could only get 2 good ones and cheated for a third. Getting back to 20 pullups is a new goal of mine. I know if I lose the weight it will happen.

I also did pushups today at home but didn't do the 20 second fitness. I was walking around downtown las vegas playing body guard for my wife for over 2 hours.

Thanks,

Doug

Thursday's Post

I did a lot better eating today. I ate a lot of fruit and veggies. I also didn't have any cupcakes or cookies at the birthday party we went too. But I did have a small strawberry milkshake from Sonic tonight. They have milkshakes buy one get one free so I gave in with that.

I did 20 second fitness again today and it was arms day. The burn on the bi's was great. Then I did my shake weight 6 minute exercise. Doing that right after the 20 second fitness makes me feel like I'm burning a lot more calories than when I try either by themselves.

Thanks,
Doug

Finally Back to 20 Second Fitness

Today our family went for a bike ride / walk to the dog park. The girls rode their bikes while my wife and I walked. By the time we got to the park our dogs were pretty spent and didn't play very much.

The girls had a ton of energy the last couple days. This morning they played at the park for an hour before it got too hot. Then had gymnastics / dance for 45 minutes. Plus the bike ride and they were still wired. Summers are tough on kids here unless you have a pool. Maybe some day we'll get a pool but I would rather have a new house with a pool than put a pool in our backyard now.

I have been slowly working my way back to getting ready for 20 second fitness and tonight I finally did it. I did the Wednesday workout of week two so I can just roll with it again. Unfortunately for me it was one of the hardest workouts and all legs!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love as seen on tv products so today I had to go out and get the shake dumbbell to try it out. It was pretty intense because I did the workout right after my 20 second workout. I also bought the pushup pro to save my wrists and get me doing pushups again with 20 second fitness.

Moving Office Walking the Strip

Yesterday was a busy day, but I was able to squeeze in a nap with my youngest daughter. I helped my wife move her huge desk and office downstairs.

We also went out and walked around the Las Vegas Strip for two hours. I was playing body guard for my wife on a photo shoot. It was just fun to be with her. Plus walking around for 2 hours was a great workout.

Lots of Yard Work

This morning I mowed the lawn, trimmed the bushes and rose bushes in the back yard. All while it was almost 100 degrees. Needless to say I was getting a work out in the sauna of Las Vegas. I also ended up helping a friend for about an hour packing his van because he is moving to Miami.

In the afternoon I took my girls to McDonalds and let them play for three hours. I ate two grilled wraps and an icecream cone. I was doing some website work for my wife while they were playing.

My Knee was starting to bug me a little today so I'm still not ready to start 20 second fitness again yet.

Saturday's Post

Yesterday I went up to girl's camp at Mt. Charleston to help set up. I chopped wood for about an hour which was a great workout.

Then we went to Mindy's brothers house to swim. That was the first time this year we went swimming with the girls. I played some pool basketball with the guys. I almost drowned because I'm a crappy swimmer but I lived. Luckily my lifeguard trained wife was able help our daughter out because I couldn't swim with her in the deepend.

After the party we stopped by lowes and I walked home in the heat to get some more exercise. It's not that far from the house but it was good workout. Because it was almost 110 degrees.

Yep It's Hot

I don't know how hot it is in Vegas right now but it is hot enough to make me sweat all day. Definitely SB Season.

I had a fun lunch with my two girls. We got dressed up nice and went to the cheesecake factory. It was a lot of fun to go on a fancy lunch date. After it was over I asked Georgia if it was fancy enough for her and she said no. The poor boys that girl ends up dating are in trouble.

We went to a birthday party and I did a lot of dancing so that was my workout for the day.

Gettin Out in The Vegas Sun

I worked outside this morning for about an hour in the heat and was sweating like a beast. Then this afternoon I walked while my youngest rode her bike to the store to pick out a movie.

That was quite the workout in the heat just walking there and back.

Food... I tried out a new burrito place called Super Burrito and it was super but probably not to good for me. Mindy's grandma used to always say if it tastes good you need to spit it out. She was tiny her whole life but I love food to much to follow her advice all the way.

I did eat some broccoli and carrots today though! Yea me!

OK I'm Back

Thanks to the one and only family member who has been nagging me for a couple days now.

I haven't been blogging because I hurt my back. I was carrying my wife camera bag and tweeked it in early May. I guess when there is Thousands of dollars worth of equipment in there it can get pretty heavy.

I was taking some time off to try to get my back feeling better. It is still a little sore but I'll live.

Instead of 20 second fitness today I went to my park and to ride my bike. My knee has been bugging me when I tried to ride a couple months ago but it felt pretty good today after it went numb.

I have been eating pretty good and maintaining my weight even though I haven't been working out. But I do have to say I went to CiCi's pizza on Monday and I love that place. I still have not eaten a hamburger and have been pretty much staying away from fried foods.

This week I have been eating more fruit but I need to start getting more sleep.

It is finally starting to get hot in Las Vegas. So I am going to start going for walks or bike rides in the middle of the day to sweat like a beast. Tonight I went riding after the sun went down just to see how my knee would do.

Just a couple weeks to drop a few more lbs before I see my family for a wedding.

I know it is technically Thursday already but I'll be posting again tonight.

Quizno's Subs more than $5

Today my wife was crazing a Quizno's salad so I thought I would have one of there new sandwiches that are $5. When I pulled up there is a big sign claiming $5 subs in the window. I guess I should have looked for the fine print because inside you find out that the subs are $5.99. Personally I like Quizno's better than subway but it annoys me how they can say the are $5. Plus they only had 4 or so sandwiches for $5.99. I ate the beef and cheddar sub.

My wife said the salad was good too.

Today I did the fifth workout of 20 second fitness this week. I pushed myself harder today than I have all week. I'm still not happy with how i look in the mirror. But I'll get there.

Thanks, Doug

20 Second Fitness

Another day as Mr. Mom

I took my daughters to gymnastics today. It is always funny to hear what women talk about when they are in a comfortable environment for them.

I cleaned house and did a little yard work today. Then I did the 8th workout for 20 second fitness. I still can't jump rope but I did six sets of calf raises instead. I also did a lot better with the mountain climbers. I can't do the bicycle crunches because that kills my right knee but I did regular crunches then.

If you doubt that 20 Second Fitness is a great workout click on the link here and watch the videos. http://20second.com/doubt-it/

I can't really remember everything that I ate today but I know I ate a braut with relish and it was great! Other than that I ate healthy. I need to fire up the grill again soon before it gets too hot.

Fun Weekend

This weekend was a lot of fun. My wife and I spent some time in Laughlin and took a break from the kids. I was a weakling and didn't work out Saturday night. But I did play around in the pool trying to burn calories. We danced a song in a lounge but the crowd was a little old fro us so we didn't stay long. We hung out at the pool and I was not happy with my swimming suit body. That is going to change!

I ate more that I have in a long time but I didn't gain any extra weight from last week. I actually lost weight over the week.

I weighed in this morning at 250. Yes I'm back to 250 and not happy about it. But I was at 251 last week. I have to work hard to get back under 250 and stay there. That means getting down to 240 and quick. I made it down to 250 quickly but have been stuck with in two pounds for over a month.

Today I did work out though. It was the 7th workout of 20 second fitness. I have been doing pushups using my kitchen counter as an effort to save my knee. But today I did the diamond and wide pushup girlie style.

Thanks,

Doug

First Car Wash

A month ago we traded in our two cars and purchased the GMC Terrain. We like it but Mindy wanted a black vehicle. Normally I'm not very good at washing my cars. I owned my Honda civic and only washed it five times in five years. But with the black car we will have to get it washed often.

With that said at that place I took it to get it washed my favorite taco shop shared the space. I ate a chicken taco and enchilada with a litte bit of beans and rice. for breakfast I had a egg and bagle sandwich and for dinner I had a roast beef sandwhich. two fiberone granola bars in between.

I did the day five workout of 20 second fitness. We are leaving town tomorow so the plan is to take the cd with the laptop. That will be a true test.

I messed up my wife's Mac

I thought I could follow simple instructions on how to install new RAM for my wife's iMac. But I couldn't and then when I couldn't get it to work... I tried to put the old RAM back in and couldn't get that to work. Luckily my wife still loves me. We had to take her computer to the apple store and get it fixed but the clowns wouldn't put in our new RAM or show us how to do it. So I'm back at square one but my wife still needs her computer faster.

Luckily we still were able to make it to the temple tonight a little late but we got there. Mindy worked in the kitchen and I did laundry she got the short end of the stick.

For dinner there I had a salad, green beans, a roll, a couple bites of Mindy's chicken and mashed potatoes and a fourth of her cinnamon roll. For the earlier part of the day I ate granola with half a banana, fiberone bar, I don't remember eating lunch because I was messing with the computer for so long.

I worked out when we got home and did 20 second fitness. with the main exercise being curls.

Thanks,

Doug

Back on the Wagon

Back for the second day in a row to track my workout and food I ate. I feel so much better about myself by making it back to my blog.

Today I did day 2 of 20 second fitness. It was a great workout because I pushed myself. I also went to the gym last night and did a few quick sets on the bench with dumbells. I was still able to us the 110's but need to work on building back up to the 120's and eventually higher. I tried to ride the stationary bike but my knee couldn't take it. I'm pissed that I can't even ride a bike without pain. I'm contemplating on going and getting a shot for my knee to see if that will help with the pain. I know that I don't want to inquire about another surgery.

Food: Granola Cereal, fiberone granola bar, two super large carrots (from the huge bag I bought from costco), roast beef sandwich on flat everything bagle with extra mustard (again from the huge two pack I purchased from costco), small bowl of twice baked potatoes, V-8, furit snack, two cheese, rice and bean burritos, banana

Blogging part time equals not losing weight

Since I have been lazy about blogging and not tracking my food, I haven't been losing any weight.

I haven't lost weight in almost a month. But at least I'm not gaining all the weight back.

Today I worked out today with my wife doing day one of week one for 20 second fitness. I'm starting all over again and I'm not going to miss any day's this four weeks.

I also am thinking about going to the gym and hitting the sauna. We'll see how that goes because I haven't been the the gym for months.

Food: Granola, fiberone bar, banana, snack pack, fruit snack, three baked chicken strips, mashed potatoes, small bowl of pasta, 3 chicken nuggets (I stole those from my girls plates after they were done eating. That is something that I have to stop doing again.)

On Saturday I went shopping and was banned from going to costco alone by my wife. I was caught up in the buy-in-large vibe. At least I have 18 packs of gum to help me curb snacking.

Thanks,

Doug

Avatar!

Today I did the day 4 workout of 20 second fitness. I also went to the park with my girls and hit foam golf balls for over an hour.

It's late but I'm posting

That's all for tonight. I have to help my wife.

I've been working out sort of but not blogging.

It's 1:30 am but this counts for Tuesday the 20th.

It amazes me how much I move around all day when I'm cleaning or doing yard work. It has only been a couple weeks but I have to give mad props to all the stay at home moms out there. WOW. I feel like I worked out for three hours while I was doing house work.

Today I did day two of week 4 on 20 Second fitness. The push ups are crazy but now with the star jumps I am touching my ceiling. Not saying much but at least I'm getting more than one inch off the ground.

Eating is my downfall while staying at home. I'm eating sugar, not enough fruits and veggies and I'm not drinking enough water. I have to stay strong with my eating if I want to make this work.

Tomorrow I'm back posting my food.

Thanks for bugging me and encouraging me.

Oh the Joy's of Staying Home

Today I had the privilege of taking my daughters to their gymnastics class. They have a lot of fun going there. My three year old is obsessed with Gymnastics. She has to wear her leo every single day and most nights she holds onto one while she sleeps.

I did really good with eating today & I feel like I drank enough water today. Also Worked out to 20 second fitness. I need to stop making excuses & ensure I workout on schedule again. It is crazy though because now that I'm at home cleaning and on my feet a lot more than I am used to it feels like I am working out all day long. Just as long as I still make time to workout too I should continue to see results.

I know I have lost weight but I want to lose even more. I am looking forward to the day my wife tells me I have a great body again (& actually mean it!) I am going to not be ashamed to wear a swimming suit this summer!

Thanks, Doug

I need to Blog Again

With all that has been going on in my life I haven't been making the effort to ensure I work out every single day. & You may have noticed that I haven't been blogging as I should also.

I ate more sugar and sweets in the last week than I have in a long time. But I still haven't been over eating.

I weighed in this morning and finally broke the 250 mark! I weighed in at 249 lbs!

Wow it has been since 2007 since I weighed less than 250. This motivates me to get back on the blogging wagon.

What I am proud of most is that even without blogging I was able to lose a little weight but not enough.

Thanks, Doug

It has been a while.

I stopped posting for a few days. Last week I was let go from my job and I've been a little distracted. That has also led to me eating unhealthier that I have been for a while. It is funny how hard it is to eat healthy when you are at home all day.

I vow that after today I will start writing down my food again. I need to check myself and become accountable again.

Thank you to my mother for finally calling me out about not posting.

See more tomorrow.

Day 26 I am Finally Done with My MBA!!!!

Yea I am finally done with my MBA. I finished the last three assignments tonight. I can't believe it is over. There will be a huge void in my life. I have been going to school for over six years now with very few breaks. I am looking forward to spending time with my children and wife. I know I will have to do a lot to support my wife with her photography business. She has been so patient and supportive with me through the years that it will be fun to support her and continue to watch her thrive.

Today I think I realized what I want for my graduation present to myself. I want some new golf clubs. Before I always thought I would want a video game system but since I have been working out the last thing I want to do is sit on the couch and play video games.

Exercise: Today I did some workouts with my 25 lbs. dumbbell at work again & day 5 of week 4 in my 20 second fitness. My wife said she was going to start with me when I do week one again so I think I'm going to start back up Monday. I worked out really hard today in an effort to make up for yesterday.

Food: grapenuts cereal, two fiberone granola bars, muscle milk protein bar, two bags of baby carrots, apple sauce, half of a shrimp burrito and half of a chicken chimmy. Chicken taco salad for dinner.

Drink: danactive and V-8

Thanks, Doug

Day 25 Worst Day Yet

Exercise: Arms and cardio and abs in 20 second fitness. The worst effort I have put in yet. I think I am rethinking taking that rest week next week.

Food: two bananas, two bags of baby carrots, two apples, two fiberone granola bars, two hotdogs, two quesadillas, 100 calorie special K snack.

Drink: glass of oj, danactive and V-8

The magic fat number today was 2. It is amazing how you eat junk food and it keeps going. That is what I get for eating two hotdogs for lunch. I felt sluggish when it came to working out. That's not going to happen again.

Thanks, Doug

Day 24 Happy Birthday to My Oldest Daughter

I can't believe that it is my daughters 5th birthday. I am getting old. We went to Chuckie Cheese as a family. I know I am getting skinnier because my wife, who is a great photographer, told me she didn't recognize me when she was looking at me from behind when I was standing in a crowd. She said she was looking for my normal tight fitting shirt. That makes me know there are noticeable differences already and I know there will be more to come.

Exercise. My knees are feeling it from yesterday's workout still. I think I did a little to much but I'll live. What made it worse was today was a killer leg workout. I did Day 3 of week 4.

Food: banana, grapenuts cereal, fiberone granola bar, special k strawberry crisps, muscle milk bar. A little St. Patties Day food, cabbage hold the corn beef, Shepard's pie, and carrots. I had two plates of salad at the chuckie cheese salad bar. I didn't have any pizza, cupcakes or cotton candy.

Drink: v-8, danactive & two cups of Lemonade.

I need to start working out earlier. I just finished and it is 10:20. I'm pretty tired so hopefully I will be able to get to bed sooner that usual.

Thanks for following and don't be afraid to leave comments, Doug

Day 23 Worked out pretty hard.

I worked out harder today that I have before with 20 second fitness. I did more of the high knees and trying to jump rope more. I can feel my knee getting stronger.

Exercise: Day 2 of week 4 of 20 second fitness. I also did a little bit of dumbbell work with my 25 lbs weight.

Food: banana, fiberone granola bar, muscle milk protein bar, special k crisp snack, two bags of baby carrots, two shrimp tacos from taco bell. (Over priced and not worth it.) half of a bean burrito.

Drink: danactive and V-8

Thanks, Doug

Day 22 Doug is Losing Weight thanks to 20 Second Fitness

As I posted earlier today I have lost a total of 13 lbs and counting. I can't wait to be on the success stories page of 20 second fitness. http://20second.com/success-stories/

Exercise: Today was day 1 of week 4. It started with push ups and they were killer. I had to modify them slightly in order to save my knees but I made it.

Food: banana, orange, cutie baby orange, two bags of baby carrots, two fiberone granola bars, tuna to go lunch, peach, little sample of a muscle milk protein bar, and a sample of a 100 calorie special K fruit crisp. Yes I did buy both from Costco after sampling them. Dinner was some left over noodles from my wife's dinner on Saturday but I added grilled chicken.

Drink: V-8 and danactive.

I would have never thought that I could lose weight as fast as I am. Remember you can do it too. If you have not checked out the website yet make sure you do, it is http://www.20second.com/

Thanks, Doug

Weigh in Day after 3 weeks.

Last Monday I didn't get up early enough to do an official weigh in. But I did today.

I started this change in my life 21 days ago to get healthy weighing in at 267 lbs. This morning I weighed in at 253.8 so we will round up to 254 lbs. Thirteen pounds in three weeks! I'll definitely take that. Now I need to push to get under 250 for next week.

This weekend I could have ate a lot of sweets but I resisted. I'm glad I didn't indulge. & Sorry to my daughter for not eating birthday cake with her.

Even though my wife is a busy photographer I hope she will join me in getting healthy. You can't run a marathon without taking the first step!

Thanks, Doug

Heart Broken Father over American Idle Results

Here is a picture of a heart broken father soon after he found out the fate of his supposed daughter on the popular TV show American Idle.

His supposed daughter leaves the set after she is booted off the show. Do you see the resemblance? She will be missed by at least one fan because no one else voted for her.

Day 21 Wow three weeks...

Today was a rest day from exercise and I needed it. I'm pretty sore. Stretching is a must this week. I'm pretty burnt out with school. I have 8 more days till I'm done with my MBA.

Food: One pancake, one egg, small skillet mix, salad with the skillet leftovers, salad with chicken, peach, fiberone granola bar. (I almost ate a peanut M&M but I just licked the shell of it and then didn't want to eat it. Thank you to my wife for eating it for me!)

Drink: Large glass of Orange Juice.

If I can wake up I'm going to weigh in tomorrow morning.

Thanks, Doug

Day 20 I'm beat from a day of being a tourist

I don't know how people can come to Las Vegas and walk around to the tourist spots. It is exhausting to walk around all day. I showed my sister some of the sites on the strip for a few hours with my sister and I'm spent. My wife shocks me she can walk around and take pictures all day as a photographer

Exercise: I did the sixth workout of week three. I had to modify it again but I still got a great workout.

Food: banana, watermelon, two fiberone granola bars, grilled chicken, chicken salad.

Drink: Orange Juice, V-8

Thanks, Doug

Day 19 Go Rebels

I watched a whole basketball game starting at 8:30 pm and didn't snack at all. It was fun to watch UNLV beat BYU. I'm glad my sister is in town and now I have the challenge of spending time with family and not overeating.

Exercise: Today was day 5 of week three. It was the shoulder workout It was tough but I made it through. I also did a set of 51 push ups at work. That is supposedly getting me lunch from a co-worker but we'll see.

Food: fiberone granola bar, banana, two bags of baby carrots, apple sauce, tuna lunch pack, half of a bean burrito, shrimp burrito.

Drink: Glass of Apple Juice.

Thanks, Doug

Day 18 Disappointed with tonight

Tonight was the first time I snacked more than I wanted too.

Exercise: Day four of week three of 20 second fitness. I suck at jumping rope. I have to modify it because of my knee. I did my workout between half time of the Rebels game. UNLV Go Fight Win!

Food: Banana, Peach, fiberone granola bar, two bags of baby carrots, chicken quesadilla with salsa for lunch, Chicken taco salad for dinner. Then I ate a snack pack pudding and a little bag of animal crackers. I was disappointed that I ate the animal crackers and my second fiberone granola bar of the night.

Drink: Glass of Fat Free Milk, V-8

Thanks, Doug

Day 17 Stayed Home With The Kids

It is easy for me to eat healthy when I go to work if I take my lunch. I take what I am going to eat and I don't deviate from that (Just as long as I don't get talked into going out to lunch.)

But staying at home with the girls today made it difficult. I did good though. I was supposed to go with my wife who is a photographer to the wppi photography convention, but I needed to stay home to sign for her camera she bought.

Exercise: Week three day three workout for 20 second fitness. I'm still going strong. Leg day ouch.

Food: grapenuts cereal, banana, peach, bag of baby carrots, fiberone granola bar, chips and salsa/sour cream/chicken, home made quesadilla with chicken and cheese, a couple slices of my daughters cheese quesadilla.

The workout I'm doing's website is http://www.20second.com/

Day 16 Losing Weight in 20 Second Intervals

Exercise: Week 3 day 2 workout of 20 Second Fitness. It was a killer ab workout and then cardio. I went pretty hard so it was a good workout.
Food: 2 fiberone granola bar, two packets of baby carrots, banana, peach, small cup of sunflower seeds, apple sauce, final left overs from turkey meat balls and rice. (Yes they seemed spicier the third day.) I had a chicken taco salad again. I really like this cooked and sliced chicken from Costco. They make it easy to eat chicken. There are two packages with 33 ounces each for $9.99.
Drink: danactive, V-8

My wife is talking about joining me with my quest to get healthy so if you know her please encourage her too. She is an amazing Las Vegas photographer and her life is pretty busy but I know she can live a healthier life if she wants too. I love her and want her to be healthy too.

One thing I have learned through this experience is that once your mind decides to change anything is possible. The main way I have done it is by correlating the discipline I have in my life and turned it into discipline in my eating and exercise. For example I can count on one hand the number of times I remember swearing since I was 18 years old and leaving bootcamp. If I can control what my mouth says and what my mind wants to say some times, I can control what I eat and what my mind wants to put into my mouth. I will continue to progress and become healthier. I'm pleased with my steps so far but this is only the beginning.

Thanks, Doug

Day 15 I drank my first soda in two weeks.

It's late so I'm going to make this quick.

Exercise: Day 1 of week three in my 20 second fitness workout. I also did a couple sets with my dumbbell at work.

Food: Fiberone granola bar, nectarine, apple slices, apple sauce, left overs from turkey meat balls and rice from my sister in law. I think they were spicier the second day. I'll see what day three brings when I finish them off tomorrow. For Dinner I had a salad with chicken, chips, salsa and a little ranch.

Drink: V-8, V-8 fruit juice, danactive and my first soda. I drank a can of sprite at work. I'm not sure it was worth it but since they took out the water machines at my work I'm struggling to drink enough water.

Thanks, Doug

Oh yea, I didn't weigh in today. Couldn't get out of bed this morning. I am going to wait until next Monday to weigh in. I have a goal to be at 249. That would be an average of six pounds for three weeks straight. I really want to be under 250 for the first time in a couple of years. I know I can do it but I'll have to work hard.

Day 13. Not my best eating day.

Today I had a fun day with the family but I felt I didn't do good eating. I played photography assistant to my wife while she was doing some child photography.

We went out to eat at Chili's.

Exercise: Today I did day six of week two and it was a pretty intense workout. I had to mortify some of the workout but I made it through it.

Food: I had grapenuts for breakfast. Then at Chili's I at two bowls of soup a salad and a few chips and salsa. Two fiberone granola bars. Bean and cheese burrito. The burrito was not a good choice.

I did resist eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream when we took the girls there.

Thanks, Doug

Day 12 What a Day

I really didn't eat that much but I feel like I haven't been eating as healthy. We haven't gone grocery shopping for a while and running short on health food. So we have been eating out more than usual.

Exercise: Day 5 of week two for my 20 second fitness workout. I feel like I'm going to throw up. It is almost midnight and I just did my workout. At least I did it.

Food: grapenuts cearl, 2 snack pack puddings, one cheese and cracker pack, on foot long sweet onion terioky chicken sub, cucumber wedges, and a shrip burrito.

I resisted eating my daughters bean burritos that they didn't finish. I was pretty proud of myself for that. When we do finally go shopping I need some gum to chew when I'm feeling on edge about food.

Drink: danactive and V-8 Fruit Juice.

Thanks, Doug

Day 11 Doug is Losing Weight in Las Vegas

I am starting to get in the habit of preplanning before I go out to eat. Now when I know I am going to go out for lunch or dinner I pull up the places menu online. This allows me to look at what the healthy options are and make a decision before I get to the restaurant. This way I am not drawn in by the tasty looking pictures. I am able to go in with a plan and stick with that plan. I highly recommend trying this.

Tonight my wife was at on a photography shoot and then took a little break from work and the girls. Normally when I am with the girls at home I would order a pizza for them and one for me and eat almost a whole large pizza in one sitting. But tonight I resisted the urge for pizza.

Exercise. I did my 20 second fitness work out. And also did some dumbbell reps at work.

Food: for breakfast I had grape nuts cereal.

I ate lunch at The Chicken Crazy and had the original pollo bowl with a side of steamed veggies. For dinner I took the girls to Chinese. I ate a healthy option of garlic scrimp and veggies with a small side of brown rice and a small salad.

Drink: danactive, V-8 Fruit Drink, Glass of OJ

Thanks, Doug

Day 10 of Doug Changing his Life

I can't believe it has already been ten days! This is starting to get easier but I'm sure there will still be major challenges for me. Tonight was one of them and I took another stride in the right direction. Usually my wife cooks dinners but lately she has been really busy with her photography business. But tonight she did make dinner. When she cooks I clean and do the dishes. Whenever I am putting away the leftovers and no one is watching I am usually shoving large portions of food in my mouth. However tonight I resisted and just put all of the leftovers in the fridge. Another big step in the right direction for me.

Exercise: Today was day three of week two of 20 second fitness. It was leg day and man am I feeling it. I made some minor adjustments to save my knee but I still had a great workout.

Food: banana, orange, and an apple for breakfast. For lunch I went to Wendy's and had a small bowl of chili, baked potato, and Cesar salad. Dinner I ate one pancake and some sausage, potato, onion, egg, and peppers combo that my lovely wife made.

Drink: I didn't drink enough water today because at my work they took out the water machines :( I did have my danactive and V-8 fruit drink though.

Thanks, Doug

Have You Lost Weight?

I must be doing something right because yesterday was the first time. I had someone asked me if I have lost weight. It had been three days since that person had seen me and he said I looked like I was slimming down. (Of course I gave him a jab about not checking out my blog.)

Then last night my wife told me my legs are starting to show some definition again. She also said my face is looking slimmer.

I'm not sure if I am noticing the physical results as much as they are but I have noticed that I am feeling better physically.

Yesterday after work I went to the park with my two daughters. We played on the swings for a few minutes then had a great game of tag on the jungle gym. That is the first time in over a year that I have actually played with them at the park instead of sitting and watching. Being able to run around with them and having fun was very special to me. They are the reason I want to be healthy.

Thanks, Doug

Day 9 Doug is Getting in Shape

I am tired! I need to go to bed early tonight and get some sleep.

Exersise: I did day 2 of week two. At the end there is a killer jumprope set. I didn't jump rope but used five pound dumbells and twisted them as if it was a jumprope. Great workout from 20 second fitness.

Food: small amount of grapenuts and milk, banana, fiberone granola bar, tuna salad lunch, chocolate pudding snack pack, two eggs with cheese, chips and salsa.

I love chips and salsa. After the small amount of salsa was gone I started eating too many chips but I was able to stop and put that last handful back in the bag.

Drink: danactive, V-8, V-8 Fruit drink

Week One Weigh In! Lose Weight in Las Vegas NV

I wasn't sure if I was going to weigh in on the first week. But this morning I felt that I needed to check my progress. I have made it over many hurdles including a little mini vacation trip where I didn't over eat.

It is amazing how much will power I have just knowing that I am going to have to post what I ate on this blog. Every time I am tempted to eat unhealthy I remind myself that I will have to tell the world what I ate.

As a reminder when I began last Monday I weighed 267 lbs. This morning I weighed in at 259.8 lbs. I think the last time I weighed less than 260 lbs was right before my knee surgery Jan 2009. Until today I wasn't sure if the scale was broken and always started with 26_. I'm happy to see that my scale doesn't have to start with 26_

Losing seven pounds makes me want to workout even harder this week.

Thank you for all of the support and love. Especially from my wonderful wife who is a las vegas wedding photographer.

Day 7 The day at Mt. Charleston

Last night was a fun night. We slept in a cabin and I had the privilege of sleeping in one of my old sleeping bags from the Marines. I sure remember the bags being a lot bigger.

For breakfast I had a flat bagel sandwich with eggs, cheese, and ham. I also had a flat bagel by itself. They are really good and a lot healthier than regular bagels. I also ate a little of more scrambled eggs.

Lunch was chili and corn bread.

Dinner was pulled pork sandwich with, corn and some macaroni salad. I again avoided eating any candy but I did have a snack pack pudding for desert.

I am proud of myself with my food. We had a great day as a family tubing and playing in the snow. It was so much fun that my wife wants to buy a cabin. We'll see how my career goes and her photography.

Thanks, Doug

Day 6 Heading to Mt. Charleston

Today I did the day 6 workout of 20 second fitness and now we are going for an over nighter at a cabin.

I at a small bowl of grapenuts and milk, a danactive and one fiberone granola bar.

Glass of orange juice.

I will update tomorrow night the rest of the food I ate for Saturday.

Thanks, Doug

Here is my continuation for Saturday's food.

I at a chicken breast sandwich from Wendy's I didn't eat the bun.
A handful of cheese nip crackers.
For dinner I had a turkey and cheese sandwich with tomato soup.

I resisted eating smores with my family.

Day 5 of Doug's effort to Lose Weight in Las Vegas

Today I had rough workout. My wife also does 20 second fitness because she is a busy las vegas wedding photographer and doesn't have a lot of time to workout. But she has to go workout once a week at the facility in Las Vegas. Today was the first time I went with her and it was pretty intense with the class. I learned I need to push myself harder at home so I can get better results. It is a lot different when the instructor can see you and calls you out on not going hard enough. I tried to keep my head down and just go hard but I still got called out.

I think I'll stick to working out at home but with more intensity.

At work I also did a few different sets with my 25 lbs dumbbell at.

Food:
I tried something different for breakfast. I had a small amount of grape nuts cereal and it kept me satisfied for a while.
I had my usual of motts apple sauce, an orange, one bag of carrots, fiber one granola bar, Tuna Salad Lunch to Go.

For dinner we went out to eat with my wife's family at ihop. On the back of the menu they have some *healthy options. I ate the spinach and mushroom omelet with a side of fruit. I resisted the urge to finish my wife's eggs and my daughters left over pancakes and eggs. Since I am changing my life I have to convince myself it is ok to waste food. Before when I would go out to eat with the family I would eat my food and then any and every leftover I could find so I didn't feel we were wasting food.

Drink: Danactive, V-8, Glass of Apple Juice

Now for another challenge, the weekend! To top it off we are going to a cabin at Mt. Charleston Saturday night to play in the snow. I am committed to making quality food choices and I will workout before I leave.

* I never knew it before but I'm pretty sure that the majority of restaurants will have a healthy option. I just have to look!

Day 4 I need to lose weight blog

Wow I made it through today. I'm shocked but happy with today. This was by far my most challenging day.
I made it over the hurdle of going out to eat the first time and making a health choice and not over eating in a restaurant.

The next challenge was when I came home my family was gone and I was in the house by myself. My wife was coming back for an engagement photo shoot. All the food in the house was calling my name... It was tough but I resisted the urge to stuff my face.

My final challenge of the day is that I didn't do my workout until after 10:30 but I did do it.

Exercise
Today was day four of 20 second fitness

Food: Fiberone Granola Bar, Motts apple sauce cup, one pack of baby carrots.

I went out to lunch but made a wise choice. I went to Rubio's and had a health mex mahi mahi burrito with rice.

Dinner: I had one stick of string cheese and a two egg burrito, with a little salsa.

Drink: V-8, Danactive, glass of orange juice

I'm really excited to see what is going to happen with my weight since I have been cutting out the extra eating!

Thanks, Doug

Day 3 Fight to Lose Weight in Las Vegas

If you are checking up on me you will come to find that at work I eat the same things almost every day. My struggle is when I come home and want to order pizza, go to in-and-out, jack in the box, taco bell and the list goes on and on. I also struggle when I walk in the house I start to eat and keep snacking for two to three hours and then have a dinner. I am trying to cut out the excess snacking and eat smaller portions at dinner.

Exercise: Today I went golfing at Bears Best. It was pretty cold but a lot of fun. I am trying to get back into golf after my two knee surgeries last year. I'm getting better and better. Unfortunately my knee was pretty sore. But I still did my day three of 20 second fitness. The first part was on lower body so I was hurting. I will be icing my knee before I go to bed.

Food: Strawberry Granola bar, banana, motts apple sauce, small apple, orange, two bags of carrots, fiber one granola bar, Tuna Salad Lunch to Go. (I didn't eat any junk food on the golf course!) Once I got home I had a salad. Then some tortia chips and salsa, with a little cottage cheese in the salsa. Very yummy.

Drink: Danactive, V-8, Glass of Apple Jucie, Glass of Orange Jucie

Thanks, Doug

Why I choose the workout 20 Second Fitness

Here is a message from the creator of the work out. Check out his before and after pictures at the end. Thanks, Doug

Last Friday I started something I am really proud of. I am sending you this email because last Friday I launched a DVD workout program that I created called 20 Second Fitness!

It has made a huge physical change in my life, Tiff’s (my wife) and many of our test subjects over the past six months. I’ve attached a photo that shows my transformation from Jan 1st 2009 to Oct 2009. Also my current profile photo is from January 1st of 2010. This is a direct result of me implementing the 20 Second Fitness program into the last six months of my life.

Given the results I have personally experienced and the results of the test subjects I have been working with over these past months, I feel strongly that I need to share what I've learned as I have developed this program.

20 Second Fitness is unique in that it addresses all of the reasons and excuses we use that prevent us from accomplishing our exercise goals and, more importantly, ensures that we will achieve the results we desire through our exercise programs. 20 Second Fitness is a fast paced, super-intense interval program that only takes an 8 to12 minute commitment each day.

I know you are probably thinking you can’t get a good workout in 8 to12 minutes. But what you will learn is that we have been able to cram an hour's worth of workout into those 8 to12 minutes. The 20 Second Fitness program is you giving it everything you’ve got for 20 seconds at a time for a few minutes every day. If you can commit to this, you will achieve your physical goals and objectives.

If you are already exercising, the 20 Second Fitness program will turbo-charge your results and if you aren't working out right now, this is a program that even the busiest of you can adopt and commit to.

Some basic elements of the program include:

1. It is a short workout. Really short! Only 8 to12 minutes a day. The workout is organized into 4 minute sets. This means you can do 4 minutes in the morning and 4 minutes at night--you can get your exercise in when it is convenient for you.

2. No more excuses! You can’t tell me you don’t have 8 to12 minutes a day to improve your physical health and the quality of your life. If you have time to brush your teeth you have time for 20 Second Fitness!

3. Intensity --- The key to the program is intensity. Muscle and strength gains come from muscle overload. For a few minutes each day we will push your muscles, lungs and heart as hard as we can.

4. Exercising in this way accomplishes two things:a. The program is going to help you increase your calorie burn, both during and after the workout, andb. Through these consistent, intense workouts you can actually increase your metabolic rate, which means your body will naturally burn MORE calories as you go throughout your day.

5. The program is adaptable to any fitness level. It doesn't matter if you are 100 pounds over weight or already quite fit. 20 Second Fitness is the program for you if you want to improve your health:a. If you want to lose some weight if will ignite your metabolism and help you get the results you want.b. If you are already working out it will help you achieve fitness goals you didn't think were possible.

6. Over the past 6 months I am running, biking and swimming less than anytime in my life, but through 20 Second Fitness I am substantially faster, stronger and healthier than I have ever been.

7. Our test subjects, of all different fitness levels, have likewise seen tremendous results in strength, weight loss and general health.I want these same results for you, if you want them.

I want to give you an introductory offer to try out 20 Second Fitness for $99. I know this program can help you achieve your goals. I'm so certain of this, that I'm also going to give you a 90 day money back guarantee. If you want to take me up on this offer, and get started now go to my website @ http://www.20second.com/

Review the two minute video about the program and then buy it and give it a try. If you try it and are consistent with it I know that 90 days from now you will be seeing huge improvements in your life. If you are not happy, send it back and I will refund your money minus your shipping.

I also need your help to get the word out to the world. Become a fan of 20 Second Fitness on Facebook and tell your friends, family, and coworkers about 20 Second Fitness. Feel free to forward this email so you friends can take advantage of this program. You can also post our 2 minute video from youtube in your status bar the link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBpR58D5ILc&feature=player_embedded
